Opal Carindale

MCD Australia has again been engaged by Opal Healthcare in 2023 as the Project Manager and Superintendent for the delivery of their new long-term asset in Carindale. The 196-bed, seven level Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) of 11,600m2 GFA is located adjacent to the Aveo Retirement Community and the Westfield Shopping Centre. The design incorporates a 15 bed Memory Care Unit with self-contained private landscaped areas.  The RACF features function room, salon, café, a wellness centre and treatment rooms, landscaped gardens, outdoor and podium level courtyard areas. The BOH incorporates commercial laundry and kitchen, admin/office areas and basement parking.

Design was undertaken by Kearney Architects, and the project was procured via an ECI with Badge Constructions (QLD); works commenced on site in September 2026 and is due for completion in the third quarter of 2028.
